Nice Clip: Echobelly – Dark Therapy

La primera canción que escuche de Echobelly fue "King Of The Kerb" y recuerdo que fue en el hoy desaparecido canal Rock and Pop, un día domingo, luego de una seguidilla de videos.

Me gusto al tiro! La onda, el acento de la vocalista, Sonya Madan y el sonido fresco (en ese entonces) :)



Y no me equivoque, puesto que cuando por fin tuve acceso al disco "On" (1995) no lo deje de escuchar diariamente por meses!



Este video, lo vi específicamente en Vía X, cuando Fernando Mujica trabajaba en ese canal, haciendo "El Rayo X" (si la memoria no me falla)… y el tema también pertenece a "On".

Es una exquisitez de canción!

Nice Clip: Oasis - Supersonic

Esta es la primera canción que escuche de los Oasis, por ahí por el 94-95…(ufff hartos años atrás!)
Y raye con la banda!

Tema incluido en el álbum debut “Definitely Maybe” (1994)



Y precisamente este disco, es el que más me gusta de toda la carrera musical de esta banda. Es que es incomparable a todos los álbumes que vinieron después. Quizás el siguiente, “(What's the Story) Morning Glory?” (1995), sería el que le haría mayor peso…pero no, no lo alcanza. “Definitely Maybe” es supremo!





Todavía recuerdo esos años…en que el “Britpop” se llevaba todos y cada uno de mis pe$o$, cuando encargaba discos al extranjero en una tienda del Drugstore, hoy desaparecida: Fusión, (recuerden que no existía la música descargable por Internet!).

Es que no me bastaban los álbumes oficiales, no…yo quería también los EP.

Y pasaba largaaaas horas viendo MTV para pillar por ahí los videos clips de bandas como Blur, Radiohead, Elastica, Suede, Pulp, Supergrass, Echobelly, etc.

Nostalgia noventera de mi infancia-adolescencia :)

Nice Clip: Madonna - Secret

Como ven ando cargada al blanco y negro ;)

Este es el primer sencillo del álbum “Bedtime Stories”, publicado el 1994.

Por la web me entero que en su tiempo hubo un halo de misterio en relación a cuál secreto (“Secret”) nos revelaba Madonna.

En su momento corrieron versiones incluso, que decían que el GRAN secreto era que estaba embarazada. Ella misma nunca explicitó su real intención con esta canción.

A mí me tinca, que el secreto-no-tan-secreto está contenido en la letra de la canción, pero al esperar siempre lo más polémico de Madonna, de tan simple no fue considerado, (Ojo, que simple de decir, mas no de llevarlo a la practica):

“Until I learned to love myself
I was never ever lovin' anybody else”

En 1993 la banda británica de reggae UB40, realizaron este cover y aparece en la banda sonora de la película del mismo año “Sliver” (protagonizada por Sharon Stone y William Baldwin)

Lo Mas: Neo Grunge

El “Grunge” fue un estilo que emergió en 1991 con el álbum de Nirvana “Nevermind” y que influyó en la moda.

El diseñador Marc Jacobs, presentó una colección para la marca Perry Ellis en 1992, inspirada en el grunge.



Como todo en la moda es cíclico, el grunge está de vuelta (y los noventas en general)

Ya todos conocen en qué consiste este circuito concatenado de lo fashion:

- Primero, pocos son los que usan y visten los elementos de vanguardia;

- Luego, estos elementos se agrupan con algún concepto que dé el tono del estilo y se hace conocido y deseado. Y ya muchos son los que los incorporan en sus conjuntos de vestimenta, convirtiéndose en masivo;

- Posteriormente, se requeté chacrea y los ves por todos lados, al punto en que ya ni muert@ los usas!

- Para luego, después de años (décadas), cuando el estilo mencionado ya es “retro” vuelve a ser cierto de desear nuevamente. Es levantado por las actuales tendencias (siempre con una nueva vuelta, con un nuevo aporte) y CHAN! : es moda.

Precisamente en esto consiste el “Neo Grunge”

Es un re-visitar el “Grunge” incorporando ciertos elementos, pero sumándoles nuevos aires.

A continuación, algunos de los elementos más distintivos del Grunge:
- Maxi camisas a cuadros
- Maxi suéteres o chalecos
- Prendas con rayas horizontales
- Poleras holgadas
- Pantalones con el denim (mezclilla) gastado o derechamente roto.
- Los bototos
- La preferencia por colores neutros o poco llamativos
- Uso de prendas superpuestas









La idea es utilizar estos elementos, mezclándolos con otros más “chic”, mas femeninos. O incorporar brillos plateados o dorados.
